Emergency

Emergency Care

You can’t control when an accident happens, but you can make sure that you visit a doctor or dentist as soon as possible if you injure your teeth, jaw, or mouth. At AndSmile, we will administer an X-ray to see how serious your injury is and then treat your mouth, teeth, or orthodontic appliances accordingly. If you are under orthodontic care, we highly recommend that you visit us as soon as possible to see if we need to adjust or replace any of your orthodontic appliances.

Infected Teeth

Teeth can sometimes become infected after orthodontic treatment – this can be caused by the orthodontic appliance itself or it can be unrelated. Regardless of the cause, you need to seek professional help from a dentist if you experience any pain or swelling in or around your tooth.

Minor Orthodontic Issues

Minor Orthodontic issues can appear if you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. These are normal appearances and you don’t have to panic if you experience them. Most of it happens as part of normal day-to-day usage and wearing of braces. Be cautious when you eat any hard, sticky food and try not to brush your teeth and braces too vigorously. If any of the following orthodontic problems occur, you can either resolve it on your own or visit us to fix it at the office:

  • Poking wire
  • A loose bracket
  • A loose elastic band
  • A loose wire
  • Any loose appliance
  • If your headgear does not fit
  • General soreness and aches

If you’re experiencing a lot of pain, be sure to contact us immediately on our emergency number 0422 492 421, or if you’re uncertain whether your situation qualifies as an emergency, you can also schedule an emergency appointment through our online booking platform.
