Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic Services

Our services also include orthodontic work such as braces to correct irregularities of your teeth or simply straightening it. Orthodontist work is a speciality within dentistry that looks at correcting bites (underbites and overbites), obstructions in the mouth and fixing misaligned teeth. They can also work on additional problems with the jaw and the treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD).

Adult Treatment

Braces aren’t just for kids anymore. Tooth alignment can be changed at any age if your gums and bone structure are healthy. We offer a variety of treatments that are designed for different age groups – including adults. A new smile can begin today.

Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your personal appearance and self-esteem. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces.

Children’s Treatment

There’s no set age for seeing a kids orthodontist, but the Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends you take your child for an orthodontic check-up around the age of seven or eight. This allows our orthodontic team to identify any potential issues early and develop an appropriate course of treatment before any major issues occur. Children who require braces can start their treatment as early as eight or nine, but we often see children right through their teenage years.

Hidden Braces

If you’d like a straighter and more confident smile, but don’t want conventional metal braces, then we’ve got great news for you. And Smile is a qualified provider of invisible braces, also known as lingual braces.

Invisible braces work like conventional braces, yet they are fixed at the back of your teeth to completely hide the brackets and wires when you smile.

Clear Braces

Clear braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal.

Classic Braces

Traditional metal braces are still the most common treatment option and are adjusted at each visit. Modern technological advancements have seen the size of metal braces reduce as well as an improvement in comfort during treatment. Metal braces can also be personalised by changing the colour of the elastic module during treatment.

The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates—called aligners—that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.

Feel free to book in to see our orthodontic specialist if you wish to discuss any aspect of your orthodontic treatment needs.
